Michael Buble "To Be Loved" album review

As a member of the One2One Network, I was given the opportunity to preview the new Michael Buble album, "To Be Loved." I had heard his name before, but I was really not familiar at all. I really didn't know what to expect, but I have a wide range of musical appreciation, so I was willing to give it a try in exchange for my honest opinions.

I began to realize while I listened that almost all of the songs on this album are recognizable covers originated by other artists. It almost gave me the feeling that I was watching a Las Vegas lounge act. It took me a little while to discover whether or not that was a good thing. Really, I would describe the music as "Easy Listening." It includes the type of songs you would hear on a TV show or movie soundtrack, or on a Muzak-type station in a mall or something, which aren't exactly the type of songs that I would normally seek out to listen to. However, it really was pleasant and even uplifting to my mood. I was showering and getting ready for my day as I played the album, and I have to admit that I found myself be-bopping around a little bit to some of the songs that I recognized.

All in all, I must say that I did enjoy listening to this album (which surprised me). If you are interested in checking it out, I recommend purchasing it from Amazon. If you buy the CD version, they include a free mp3 version of the album as well. Enjoy!

Soft Scrub Mold and Mildew stain remover gel review and giveaway

I recently received a container of Soft Scrub Mold and Mildew stain remover gel to test and blog about. This formula is a little different...it comes in a sprayer, which I love. I don't really have a mold or mildew problem, but I am always eager to try and share new products. I used it to clean the entire bathroom, and it worked wonderfully. I really like the spray gel because it clings to the surface. It worked great at cleaning my bathtub, which gets a little discolored because when you first turn the water on it comes out kind of rust colored for a few seconds and a buildup happens there.

Soft Scrub 4-in-one review and giveaway

I received a sample of Soft Scrub 4-in-1 Toilet Care from the Purex Insiders program to test and review. It is a product that hangs from the rim of the toilet and cleans and freshens every time you flush. Of course, it doesn't prevent regular toilet cleanings (if only!), it does help to keep things a little fresher in there. It is supposed to be effective for up to 4 weeks. In our house, we have low-flow flush toilets, so I think that the product would have been more effective if more water flushed past it each time, but it was still a helpful little contraption to have on there. The clip stayed put and did not get in the way at all.

Combat review and sweepstakes

Review:

A month or so ago, I was sent a package of Combat Ant Killing Bait Strips to try and review. I had to wait until I started seeing ants to use it, which was about a week ago. It seems that every year, ants become a problem in 3 areas of my home: one of the bedrooms, around the kitchen sink, and near the dog's food dish. As soon as I saw a few ants, I reached for that package to nip the ant problem in the bud.

Opening the vacuum-sealed pouch that contained the strips posed no problem at all. It had the little pre-cut "tear here" edge. After removing the first strip, I did encounter some difficulty. The product itself is a little plastic tray with a peel-off seal to expose the product and on the other side is a label that has a small adhesive sticker on top of it to affix it to a surface. My first problem was that when I saw the words, "remove to adhere," I tore the label instead of the way-too-small adhesive sticker and made it so that the sticky was no longer able to be used. Even on the ones that I exposed correctly, I found that the sticker was too small to be very effective at sticking to the desired surfaces. Anyway, I did end up setting out the trays, and sticking them in places that were not my first choices, so I got them out and waited.

I still saw ants for about 3 days after I set the strips out, but I have not seen any since then. I feel that this product could use some improvement, but it did end up doing the trick eventually.
